Wellborn's cabinet face frames are 1¾” wide, 17% wider than many in the industry at 1½”. The additional width adds strength, keeps joints from separating, and helps to ensure cabinet squareness.
Blind Mortise and Tenon Joinery is used to assemble our face frames because it creates a strong joint and prevents splitting of the stiles. It is an age-old joinery method that has long been recognized as a sign of high quality construction. The joints are glued, locked into place by hand, and carefully inspected prior to being machine squared and stapled into place, adding extra strength and ensuring cabinet squareness.
