In a few short weeks, LCpl Eric Frazier, USMC (Ret) will move into his brand new, specially adapted Helping a Hero home featuring Wellborn Cabinet created spaces where accessible living is seamlessly integrated into every aspect of his daily life.

To celebrate this significant milestone, Wellborn Cabinet hosted a special event at the hero’s new home on August 30th. The event was graced by the presence of Helping a Hero home recipients, as well as their talented National Ambassador “Queen of Butter” Paula Deen. It was an open house extravaganza that showcased the accessible cabinets within the home, giving our hero and others a firsthand look at the possibilities that come with a home designed to cater to heroes with mobility challenges.  The presence of our veteran guests at the event provided a powerful demonstration of the accessibility of our cabinetry.

And what is an event without Paula Deen doing some baking? Our special heroes joined Paula in utilizing the accessible kitchen to bake a delicious Ooey Gooey Butter cake, further highlighting the practicality and usability of our products.

X Factor Winner and National Ambassador of Helping a Hero, Tate Stevens, closed out the event with his powerful song “Ordinary Angels”. He is a champion for our heroes and shared his belief that these adapted homes are like a bear hug from America and provide these heroes freedom inside their homes.  Tate dedicated his song to all the employees at Wellborn who made these cabinets possible through their labor of love. They are truly “Ordinary Angels” and have given Eric a “bear hug” that will last a lifetime.
